So...a blog?
This is a new frontier for me, I'm in the last year of secondary school, just finished work experience and about a a month and a three-quarters away from my exams. In this blog I'll write a bit about my everyday life and any other interesting stuff that happens to me =)
Usually if I were to write down my thoughts, feelings and otherwise random events from my day they would all get jotted down in my diary.
On the subject of diaries, have you ever found one from ages ago sat down to read it and just think 'bloody hell' on about every page? It's rather amusing to see quite how gullible and naive you used to be.
Anyway...its sort of hard to come up with anything to write about. So here's 11 things you may or may not want to know about me =)
1. I live on a tiny rock in the middle of the north sea or Shetland as it's more commonly known
2. My full name is 32 letters and 9 syllables long
3. I hate olives
4. I have two younger siblings
5. I love art, drama and any other creative subject
6. I also like maths
7. I'm a year younger than almost everyone else in my year group (Two in some peoples case)
8. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is incredibly awesome
9. I like making random collages of stuff on my wall. Most recent is a bunch of photos from the last five-six years
10. Never let anyone tell you reading is un-cool! Books are amazing!
11. I work at a local hotel, waitressing and washing stuff.
Speaking of work, tonight was the busiest night we've had since we closed for 'refurbishment'. By refurbishment what actually happened was that we got some fish and absolutely everything in the kitchen got moved so it is now impossible to find anything you need in a mid-service rush!
However, I was pleasantly surprised to see my friend P back from Poland, as she had been away for almost a month. Felt like a little child getting a Christmas present when she told me she had something for me. The something was a little blue glass and wire angel with a cracked glass pattern on the wings. It has taken pride of place hanging in the window among my other crystals.
I have been working as a waitress for almost four months and have never once served anyone I've actually knew. So imagine my surprise when my Home Economic's teacher Mrs T turned up in my 7:00 booking. I was really happy to see her out and about as she was recovering from a recent illness. My happiness, unfortunaly depleted when all six of the group ordered the steak night special, with an average of four sides each which took much time and confusion to sort out! Thankfully I didn't miss anything, but I did have to write the whole thing out again so Kitchen/boss man could understand it.
This vegetarian couple got me thinking, can Veggies drink appletiser? and Why do we not have any J2O in our bar? When I offered appletiser as a alternate to J20, veggie lady gave me a withered look. My 8:15 bookings also annoyed me quite a bit as well. Well, not all of them just the males of the part really. This one guy sat there speaking down to me and acting as if I was forcing them to come here to eat. To be honest he scared the hell out of me. Me and the KP sat in the kitchen afterwards having a good giggle about it.
Room 2 asked for Irish Coffee. I have no idea how to make Irish Coffee so I went and asked P because Kitchen/boss man wouldn't show me (even though he ended up doing it anyway!) As P and i re-entered the kitchen, I did a little shuffle dance and declared in a very bad Irish accent "But I'm not Irish!" After P had stopped laughing I was left to explain to a very puzzled KP as to what was going on!
Anyway, I think that's probably enough for my first post so i shall now drag myself away from the computer and do homework. Which I really should do.... =D
